June 15: Final date for registration for the WILPF Congress in Bolivia. But don't wait that long to decide! Information on the Congress and registration is on the Geneva WILPF web site.
June 25 to July 1: U.S. Social Forum in Atlanta. DISARM Team members and friends are organizing workshops on space issues, bioweapons and on the overall effort to dismantle our war economy. Access information on the three DISARM! team USSF workshops:
Community Struggles Against Bio-Safety Program (by Boston Branch on resisting Homeland Security dangerous Biodefense/biowarfare lab in an African American community)
War in Space or Life on Earth (co-sponsored by WILPF and Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in SPace with the Feminist Caucus of the American Humanist Association as lead sponsor.)
A War Economy or an Economy of Peace? (sponsored by WILPF DISARM! May 1- 11: Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty Prep Com in Vienna. Follow the daily action in the Reaching Critical Will NPT Monitor. The conflict between Iran and the USA threatens to derail the sessions. Access all government statements at the 2007 Prep com and let your government know your views . May 3: War in Space or Life on Earth: The Choice is Ours. WILPF panel with Bruce Gagnon and Carol Urner organized by WILPF Norway at the UN Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD) , New York. Room 2, 10th floor 777 UN Plaza, 1:15 to 3:00 pm. Read the WILPF statement to the CSD NGO caucus here.

WILPF, War Resisters League and the Arms Trade Resource Center have cooperated in updating materials on the nuclear and space militarization profiteers, and added 23 additional corporations involved in the military space industry.
May 4: New York Times feature on Norwegian government divestiture of stock in corporations profiting from nuclear weapons, space militarization and cluster bombs.
May 8: Nuclear Power Is Not the Solution to Global Warming. WILPF workshop with Alice Slater, organized by WILPF Norway at the UN Commission on Sustainable Development, New York. Room 2, 10th floor 777 UN Plaza, 1:15 to 3:00 pm.Great media coverage! Award Winning Journalist, Mr Eric K Williams of WBAI Pacifica Radio found time in his busy work schedule to report on the WILPF 'Nuclear Power is not the Solution to Global Warming' Panel discussion held as part of CSD 15. In this piece you will hear an interview with one of the panel members, Alice Slater from the Nuclear Age Peace Foundation. The piece was broadcast in New York as part of the 6pm (prime time) WBAI Evening News with a projected audience of over 500,000
May 17: Deadline for registration money to be in the JAPA office from those attending the WILPF Congress in Bolivia who do not want to pay expensive bank transfer fees.
May 23: House Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water zeroes out funding for the RWR and Complex 2030! Victory! But the battle has just begun. Check the FOCUS ISSUE on DISARM ACTION NOW for next steps in this important effort! Check if your Senators are on the Senate Energy and Water Subcommittee. It is time to start contacting them now! They are scheduled to act on the Department of Energy Appropriation in June.
